Youth Urged To Acquire Voctaional Skills

Bechem (B/A), - The Tano District Chief Executive, Mr Opoku Atuahene, has advised the youth to acquire the necessary vocations and qualifications that would guarantee them a secure future. He said it is regrettable that the youth pre-occupy themselves with materialistic pursuits to the detriment of their education which would secure them a decent source of livelihood in future. Mr Atuahene was speaking at the fifth biennial conference of the Sunyani District Youth Fellowship of the Methodist Church which opened at Bechem yesterday. The four-day conference which is being attended by about 500 delegates from the Brong Ahafo region, is under the theme "Young people in Church leadership." The District Chairman and General Superintendent of the Church, the Reverend Felix Donni-Kwame, said as future leaders, the youth in the Church must be given the opportunity to develop their leadership potentials. He gave the assurrance that the church will open up leadership positions within it to young members and hoped they would respond to the challenge.
