YOUNG KOTOKO IN THE LEAD

Sunyani (B/A), Jan, 29, Mr Solace Mohammed, team manager of Sunyani Young Kotoko, a leading colts football club in Brong Ahafo, has appealed to philanthropists to come to the aid of the club. He said anything short of financial and material assistance could bring about the collapse of the club. Mr Mohammed, making the appeal through GRI at Sunyani today, said Young Kotoko, formed 16 years ago, have in their last eight years of existence, witnessed a lot of problems. "I have single handedly been administering the club's affairs. I now feel I alone cannot do it hence the need for my appeal for support." Young Kotoko play in all the three main colts divisions under 12, under 14 and under 17 competitions every season. Among a number of talented players produced by the club are Awudu Issaka of Black Starlets fame, Yaw Eshun and Abeiku Aikins, both of Bofoakwa Tano, and Edward Sakyi, formerly with Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs and now with Sekondi Eleven Wise.
