Two semi-detached self-contained bungalows under various stages of completion meant for medical doctors and Staff of the Kibi Government Hospital in the Eastern region, is now a haven for wee smokers and other criminals.

Hospital authorities have been battling with accommodation in the last eight years but the projects have been left to rot and now serving as a hideout for criminals after the contractor reportedly vacated site and no trace of when last he visited the area for the nonpayment of certificates.

The situation which is affecting healthcare delivery has compelled most staff who are supposed to be housed by the hospital to resort to renting private houses at a very high cost.

Newly trained doctors are also refusing to accept postings to the hospital because authorities are unable to guarantee them accommodation as required resulting in the hospital currently in a dire need of a dentist.

The facility which is a District Hospital can only boast of three medical doctors and three medical assistants serving the thousands of patients who patronize the facility.
