National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says just like any other person in the country, government appointees together with party officials are all experiencing the hardship of the Ghanaian economy.

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka, Sir John interacting with Accra-based Okay FM, Monday, accused Kofi Adams and the other executives of the ‘Akatamansonians’ as well as government appointees of being exempted in the payment of utility tarrifs.

He expressed dismay that Kofi Adams, compared to some years ago where he was a deputy General Secretary of the NDC, has become so rich overnight to the extent that he’s not feeling the pains the citizenry are going through as a result of mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy.

He said oil prices have become so expensive that the ordinary Ghanaian is finding it very difficult to cope with the situation.

But the NDC National Organiser reacting to the accusations on the same radio network said he also bears the brunt of the harsh economy just like the ordinary Ghanaian.

According to him, just like any person in the country, State officials and party executives also pay utility tariffs.

“We all pay electricity and water bills. You will recall that during the late Prof. Atta Mills’ era, he issued a directive for pre-paid meters to be installed in all State buildings. The meters are in such a way that if you pre-finance the power you are going to use, you will definitely sleep in darkness”.

“So, we are all feeling the pains Ghanaians are going through”, he noted.
