Exhibition On Japanese Culture

A month-long exhibition on Japanese culture opened at the national museum in Accra on 3 November. The exhibition is being organised by a senior archaeologist at the Ghana museums and monuments board, Mr.. Joe Gazari. It is under the theme: "Japan at a glance". Mr.. Gazari, who visited Japan late last year, said he decided to mount the exhibition to give Ghanaians an insight into the Japanese society. The Deputy Chairman of the National Commission on culture, Mr. Ebow Hawkson, who opened the exhibition, has a lot to learn from Japan. He said despite Japan's technological advancement, she still values her culture. The consular at the Japanese Embassy, Mr.. Eiichi Suzuki, said the opening of the exhibition is significant, a day which coincides with Japan's cultural day. Items on display include a traditional Japanese calculator which led to the invention of computerised calculators, paintings and ceramics.
