A public spirited individual has deposited ?10 million at the Police Headquarters in Accra as a reward for any individual or police officer whose effort will lead to the arrest of the gangsters who attacked the Deputy Government Spokesman, Mr Kwabena Agyapong, at his residence at East Legon in Accra last Thursday.

The individual, who wants to remain anonymous, said he/she was touched by the ordeal Mr Agyepong went through at the hands of the armed robbers, and would support every effort to bring the culprits to book.

He said INTERPOL units in certain countries are also assisting the Ghana Police Service to apprehend the perpetrators.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack.

ASP Eklu appealed to members of the public who have vital information in connection with the attack on Mr Agyepong to volunteer it to the police, assuring them that the identities of all informants will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

About 10 men, armed with AK-47 assault rifles, pistols revolvers and hammers, attacked Mr Agyepong at his residence at Otinshi, East Legon in Accra, in the early hours of last Thursday.

Mr Agyepong, who sustained injuries in the attack, is on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.

The robbers took away $2000, a video deck, a pressing iron, and jewellery belonging to the wife of Mr Agyepong, after hitting him with a hammer.
