Unemployed man in court for stabbing another man for gazing

A Cape Coast circuit court on Thursday granted Kofi Adu, a 28-year-old unemployed GH¢10,000.00 bail for allegedly stabbing one Mr. Anthony Nanka Bruce in the face and head with a broken beer bottle at the Oasis Beach Resort in Cape Coast for gazing at him.

Adu pleaded not guilty to assault and would reappear on Wednesday June, 20.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Francis Ockom, told the court that on May 2, the complainant together with his niece and the boyfriend went to the Oasis Resort to have some drinks and saw Adu looking for his friend.

He said Adu went round the resort looking for his friend and that on reaching the table at which the complaint was, asked Mr Bruce why he was gazing at him and this resulted in an exchange of words and later generated into a fight.

The prosecution said in the process, the accused broke a beer bottle and stabbed the complainant in the head and face and the accused was arrested.**
