Tsikata's cross-examination is affecting economic development

The National Youth Organiser of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Divine Nkrumah, has blamed economic challenges on the lengthy election petition case.

He stressed that the court case has retarded the progress of the country as both foreign and local investors are afraid to invest their money in the country in case political power changes hands.

Speaking on Okay FM, he again said that many Ghanaian contractors have suspended their contracts because they do not know what will be the outcome of the Supreme Court case.

He reiterated that if Tsatsu Tsikata has nothing to ask the witness he should concede for further progress to be made on the case.

He urged Tsatsu Tsikata to take issue with the Electoral Commission (EC) whose poor conduct in the 2012 elections has cast doubt on the credibility of President Mahama and has affected the productivity of the country.

The PPP youth organiser said that the NDC has no direct linkage to this case in court but however expected the lawyer for the NDC to question the EC on the election processes.
