Timber Company Rehabilitates Road

Bofaso (Ash) A 12-kilometre stretch of road linking six communities in the Atwima District has been rehabilitated by the Kumasi Logging and Lumber Company Limited to facilitate their operations in the area. The road has been hitherto unmotorable. The communities are Kyerayaaso, Bofaso, Pamuruso, Atta-ne-Atta, Akwaburaso and Sreso-Timponmu. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Bofaso, a spokesman for the communities said an appeal was made to the management of the company to relieve them from their plight because vehicles plying the road withdrew their services or charged exorbitant fares due to its deplorable state. The spokesman commended the management of Kumasi Logging and Lumber Company for responding favourably to their appeal and urged other timber firms operating in the area to follow this good example.
