Telkom Kenya has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Kris Senanu.

Mr Senanu, who is serving notice from Access Kenya where he is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Enterprise division. He brings over 20 years of experience in the dynamic telecommunications sector having worked at Access Kenya for the past 16 years.

Telkom Kenya, which was recently acquired by UK private equity fund Helios, has been restructuring its operations with the creation of four business units.

Mr Senanu joins Amer Atwi and George Mokogi who were unveiled earlier in the month by the new Chief Executive Officer Aldo Mareuse. Former Safaricom chief information officer John Barorot was also appointed in a similar capacity.

“Senanu’s regional experience and skill set to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, result-oriented style, coupled with his passion for technology, will help ensure the turnaround of Telkom Kenya’s Enterprise segment,” Mr Mareuse said of the appointment.

Earlier this month, Telkom Kenya had announced the formation of four primary Business units; mobile, fixed, wholesale and real estate.

Telkom Kenya is yet to unveil its strategy, but Mr Mareuse has said the new owners will focus on turning around the company and making it competitive in the market.

Mr Senanu is expected to start work at the company in August.
