The MP for Techiman South, Alhaji Kwadwo Mama Adam, has called on government to provide a barracks and an office accommodation for the Ghana Police Service at Techiman. Alhaji Adam told the GNA at Techiman, that the establishment of a barracks would enable police personnel to discharge their duties more diligently. He said while Techiman has assumed the position of a major marketing centre for agricultural produce, the opportunities created a conducive atmosphere for crimes in the district. He enumerated criminal activities such as gambling, stealing, burglary, shop-lifting, among others which pose a challenge to the police. The provision of these facilities, Alhaji Adam said, are important to keep the police under one roof for easy and rapid deployment in times of need.
