TMA Presents Drinsk On Homowo

Tema, Aug 15, -The Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) today presented drinks and an amount of 500,000 cedis to the Tema Traditional Council as their contribution towards the celebration of this year's Homowo festival. In addition, TMA has drawn up a number of sporting activities including Regatta, Tug of war, Soccer gala and Homowo dance competitions which will involve Kpone, Tema Manhean and Nungua Traditional areas between August 19 to 23. A seminar for chiefs on the theme "The role of Chieftaincy in the decentralisation process" at the TMA Hall on August 26 will climax the festivities in Kpone and Tema Manhean. Nii Armah Ashietey, Tema Municipal Chief Executive said the festivities should provide a platform for uniting the people and asking for their cooperation as well as planning the development of the traditional area. "We should therefore preach love, unity and peace'', the chief executive said, adding all citizens outside the traditional areas should be made to contribute financially for the development of their areas. Nii Adjei Kraku the second, Tema Mantse expressed the gratitude of the traditional area to the chief executive whom he said has improved the cordial relationship between the assembly and the traditional authorities of Kpone and Tema Manhean.
