Sunyani Hospital cries for doctors

The Sunyani Regional Hospital lacks the adequate number of paediatrician, resulting in additional work for other doctors who have had to handle infant-related cases.

Mr Kwame Owusu-Boampong, Hospital Administrator told the GNA in an interview, in Sunyani on Thursday that the nurses under the supervision of three gynaecologists man the antenatal unit of the hospital.

Mr Owusu-Boampong said there were no doctors on housemanship at the hospital but two national service personnel were working at the pharmacy department.

The hoszital needed a laboratory technologist as well as a general doctor to help in the various departments.

Mr Owusu-Boampong said the hospital lacked accommodation for staff and complained of inadequate security, in view of recent theft cases there.
