Stop "supi" practise - Rev Minister

The Right Reverend Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Superintendent Minister of the Asawasi De-Graft Memorial Methodist Church in Kumasi, has advised girls, especially those in boarding schools to stop the 'supi' practise as it could lead them into early sex.

He said there was the need for girls at that tender age to take good care of themselves, to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.

Speaking at the annual school harvest and thanksgiving service of Mmofraturo Girls School in Kumasi, the Rt Rev Agyei-Mensah said the 'supi' practise whereby girls in boarding institutions fondled themselves could lead them into temptation.

He asked parents to monitor and supervise their children properly.
The Superintendent Minister said the government is doing everything possible to develop the girl-child and therefore asked the students to study hard to become very important and useful citizens to contribute to national development.
Mrs Lucy Stella Adoma, Headmistress of the preparatory department of the school, said the money that would be realised from the harvest would be used to rehabilitate the teachers' quarters and toilet facilities in the school.
