Stay off judicial process – NPP warns Mahama

The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned President John Mahama and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stay off the judicial process.

According to the party, President Mahama’s recent statement that judgment by the Supreme Court would be in his favour because he did nothing wrong was not only pre-emptive, but constitutes a direct interference in the work of the justices.

The National Youth Organizer of NPP, Emmanuel Attafuah-Danso, in a release, said that President Mahama and NDC Youth continuously make prejudicial and contemptuous statements that could threaten the country’s peace.

He said the NPP youth believe the power to adjudicate solely resides with the Judiciary.

“John Mahama and his NDC Youth should bear in mind that they will not be exempt from the injurious consequences of their actions should they interfere in our quest to deliver justice to the good people of this country,” Mr. Attafuah-Danso said.

He rubbished the call for peace by some NDC youth ahead of the Supreme Court’s verdict.

According to Mr. Attafuah-Danso, they suspect sinister motive behind NDC youth’s call for peace.

“It is surprising that after being convicted by the apex court of the land for preaching violence and exposing the sinister motive of the NDC, Atubigah and his NDC youth have suddenly metamorphosed into peace campaigners,” he said.

The recent destruction of state property across the country is shows that John Mahama has failed to provide any meaningful leadership to the NDC Youth, Mr. Attafuah-Danso said.
