Seven died through road accident

Mankranso (Ash), Aug 7, GNA - Six persons died on the spot while another one died later at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) when a 207 Benz bus collided with a Nissan pick-up at Tweapease near Mankranso on the Kumasi/Sunyani road on Sunday. The dead were all passengers in the 207 bus. Several others sustained of injuries and are on admission at KATH. Briefing the GNA, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Frank Aborakwa, Mankranso Police District Commander, said the accident occurred at about 0730 hours when the 207 bus was travelling from Kumasi to Bechem in the Brong-Ahafo Region whiles the Nissan pickup belonging to the Volta River Authority (VRA) was moving from Tamale to Kumasi. He said on reaching Tweapease the rear tyre of the 207 bus blew so the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the pick-up. 07 Aug 06
