Scholarship opportunities & personal development seminar for graduate applicants held across Africa

Coin Consult in collaboration with National University of Science and Technology ( MISIS) Russia and Synergies Institutes-Ghana on Thursday 1st March held an informative seminar workshop in Accra to equip the youth and graduates to nurture their potentials for further studies abroad, particularly in the Russian Federation and to upgrade their marketability in their careers and job searches.

The objective of the workshop was to educate on guidelines for graduate admission documents across the world, identify the best programs suitable for individuals based on their educational or professional background and to give links of top English masters thought programs and scholarships in Nationally University of Science and Technology NUST MISIS, Russian Federation and its benefits to the African continent.

The interactive workshop was presented in three sections for the benefits of participants to fully engage and for clarity. The first section focused on guidelines on creating strong resumes or CVs.

This was facilitated by Mr. Ikechukwu-Godson Nwosu Admission Officer at the Synergies Institutes -Ghana, on behalf of Mr. Ogochukwu Nweke its vice president. It looked at the role of strong resumes as a major part of graduate admission documents.

Tackling areas such as do’s and don’ts for effective resumes or CVs writing. He added that for professionals and fresh graduates who may be job seeking, to tailor their resumes based on the specific role that they are applying for. Adding that, it will be prudent not to send the same resumes or CVs to all the companies’ one applies to; this is because every job opening is role specific.

He emphasized on being truthful at all times in the skills outlined in one’s CV or resume, as these are likely to be tested before an applicant will be considered for a specific role or job.

Mr. Mustapha Muhammed Jamiu, Executive Director of Coin Consult and Brand Ambassador for MISIS to Ghana and Nigeria, presented on the core pillars of graduate documents.

He reinforced the importance of effective resumes or CVs for graduate programs, motivation and reference letters, the importance of adequate preparation on the process of study abroad, scholarship opportunities across the world, particularly in the Russian Federation.

Also, he clearly defined two different methods of studying abroad as being either through scholarship or a contract.

In addition that scholarship varies and are either direct or indirect scholarships. The seminar, which was already held in Lagos and Kwara, Nigeria and now also in Accra, Ghana, is a series that will be replicated across various countries in Africa as an initiative to empower the youth and graduates to nurture their interest in pursuit of further studies abroad to
see the opportunities across the world, particularly in the Russian Federation.
