SWAG and SIC strengthen relationship

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and SIC Insurance Company Limited, have renewed their long term relationship, which has seen the former sponsoring the annual SWAG Cup Match.

The two bodies on Friday, October 30, sealed a deal that will see the insurance giants sponsoring the 2015 Edition of the Annual Swag Cup match after years withdrawing their sponsorship for the event.

At a brief ceremony, Mr. Kwei Mensah Ashiedam, Ag. Managing Director of SIC said his outfit is committed to the development of football in Ghana hence the decision to support the association in some of its activities.

He SIC will also partner SWAG in other activities that will see to the development of football and sports in general in Ghana.

Mr Mensah Ashiedam, SIC is looking forward to having a fruitful relationship with SWAG as they seek to honour Mr. Henry Plange Nyemitei, a former Managing Director of SIC, a Patron of SWAG and an astute sports administrator.

Mr. Kwabe Yeboah, President of SWAG expressed appreciation to the company for their support for the match. He said the Association will ensure the company gets the needed mileage from the sponsorship.

According to Mr. Yeboah, SWAG will soon announce date, venue and participating clubs for the 2015 SIC-SWAG Cup Match.

He added that, this year event will be a memorable one as the Association will ensure the best organisational practices are put in place for the event.

The annual SWAG match has been off the football season for past three seasons due to lack of sponsorship.
