SWAG Cup: Kotoko to play Ashgold

League champions, Ashgold, will face off with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the SWAG Cup on Sunday, November 29 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

This match was made possible following an agreement by SIC Insurance to assist in resurrecting the prestigious competition which was last played in 2009 with Kpando Heart of Lions defeating Kumasi Asante Kotoko to win the trophy.

The annual challenge cup match is played in honour of the late Nyemitei, a former patron of SWAG, who was one-time deputy Managing Director of the State Insurance Corporation(SIC).

Ashgold won the Ghana Premier league with an impressive 15 wins, seven draws and eight losses ahead of rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who had a ruling overturned in their favour against Accra Hearts of Oak.
