In-form Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila is determined to return to the national team and says his fine form will help me gatecrash the team.

The 23-year-old was adjudged the best foreign player at the end of the season in Kuwait after scoring three goals for his side.

He is also in line competing for the best defender in the Kuwaiti League after helping Al Qadsia win their 17th league title.

He says he is not lowering his guard until he earns a recall to the national team.

“That is for you to judge. Every player dreams of playing for their national team so if I am invited, why not?” he told Ghanasoccernet

“ I will gladly accept and come. As for the performance, you can better tell than me. I am doing my best, but the call-up rests on the shoulders of the coach.

“Yes I do. It’s my national team and I miss most of the players.”

Sumaila was a member of Ghana’s world cup team in Brazil 2014.
