Professor Mills' Vehicles Returned To His Family

The Security Agencies have explained that they seized four cars from the residence of former vice President, Professor Evans Atta Mills because they were using security operational registration numbers. The vehicles have since been released to Professor Mills’ wife, Mrs Naadu Mills who has been directed to immediately change their registration numbers.

The Ghana News Agency quoted Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) officials as saying that they were compelled to find out why the former vice President’s vehicles were still using security registration numbers more than a year after he left office. According to the BNI, they did not know that the vehicles were given to Professor Mills as part of his end of service package.

They therefore returned the vehicles, noting that his family cannot be faulted for failing to re-register the vehicles and effect the change in ownership after the transition period. The vehicles were seized on Friday morning without prior notice to the family of Professor Mills who is currently in Canada.
