President Kufuor holds talks with Ivorian Premier

Accra, May 12, GNA - The Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) President John Agyekum Kufuor, on Wednesday held a meeting with the Ivorian Prime Minister, Seydou Elimane Diarra behind closed doors at the Castle, Osu.

Details of the meeting were not disclosed but believed to centre on the current political situation in Cote D'Ivoire and efforts being made by the ECOWAS and the United Nations (UN) to restore peace and tranquility to the country.

Alhaji Mustapha Iddris, Minister of Works and Housing and the Ivorian Ambassador in Ghana, Mr Emmanuel Tanoe met Mr Diarra, accompanied by his wife Josiane, at the Airport. Earlier in the day, President Kufuor also held closed door meeting with the Malaysian High Commissioner in Ghana, Mr Mohammad Alias. Details of the meeting that was believed to centre on bilateral issues were not disclosed.
