Peprah's transfer is in his interest

Accra, Sept. 26, GNA - The Ghana Prisons Service on Friday said the transfer of the Former Minister of Finance, Mr Kwame Peprah from Ho Central Prisons to Sekondi Central Prisons was in the best interest of the convict.
A Press statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Service Superintendent Mark K.A Agbosu said: "Just like all inmate transfers, it had to be done with a modicum to protect the dignity of the inmate."
The Statement explained that the former Minister, who was taken ill at the Ho Prisons and was on admission at the Ho Central Hospital for weeks was transferred to Sekondi, which has a more congenial environment, to help him recuperate.
It said the Prisons Service had a statutory duty under Section One of the Prison Service Decree [NRCD 46] to "ensure the safe custody and welfare of prisoners in its custody."
