Peacekeepers' Money used For Prez Jet

It has been established by an Auditor-General’s Report that a total amount of US $17,450,800 was taken from the UNIFIL Account and Peacekeeping Account between 1998 and 2001, on the direction of the Ministry of Finance, for the controversial Presidential Jet transactions.

The Report, which deals exclusively with issues connected with the transfer of funds from the peacekeeping bank accounts kept in New York towards the aircraft leasing arrangement between Gallen, Ltd. and the Government of Ghana, was stumbled upon by the CRUSADING GUIDE team of investigators.

The Report also disclosed that, a total of seven agreements on the acquisition of the plane were signed and contained different financial figures which could not be readily reconciled across the Agreements because the changes in figures had not been adequately explained in the Agreements.
