Pastor chops C45 million

A pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has been interdicted for allegedly embezzling C45 million belonging to the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church at Dansoman in Accra.

The interdiction of the minister, Rev Jerimiah Yeboah was announced to the congregation a fortnight ago. According to well placed sources, Rev Yeboah who had served the church for sometime was transferred to Agogo last October. However, immediately after his move the income received by the church through tithes and offerings increased three fold. This caused the elders of the church to become suspicious. They therefore instituted an investigation which found out that Pastor Yeboah, 48 had embezzled large sums of money belonging to the church. Subsequently, a house belonging to him and allegedly built with funds from the church has been seized.

Rev. Yeboah however appears to be unrepentant, and he according to the Daily Graphic which reported the story, has written to the church to inform them that "as a pastor , he is entitled to chop small from his work".
