Parliamentary candidates face electorate

The Jasikan Amalgamated Civic Union Education Group at the weekend organised a political forum at Jasikan to bring parliamentary candidates in the Buem constituency in the Volta region face-to-face with the public to explain their manifestos and issues of development.

They were Mr Richard Kwadwo Adjei, a journalist, (Independent), Mr Manase Nyame, agriculturist, United Ghana Movement), Mr. Ernest Agbemor-Yeboah, (National Reform Party), Mr. Baidu Kelele, journalist, (New Patriotic Party) and Sustenance Sakyi, a works engineer (Convention People’s Party).

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate and MP for the area, Mr. Emil Brantuo, did not attend. The candidates assured the people that they would pursue programmes to improve living standards including the upgrading of the Jasikan clinic to a district hospital, improving the roads and creating a separate region.

Mr. Gothold Addey, Chairman of the Union said the forum was the first in a series planned between now and November 9,in the Buem and Biakoye constituencies, to help the electorate make informed choices when they go to vote.

Mr Addey said the district needs dedicated and committed representatives in parliament who would work hard to improve the living standards of the people by facilitating the development of the district.
