Otumfuo Fund helps two schools

THE Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the Martyrs of Uganda Primary School in Kumasi, have received cheques totalling ?30 million from the Otumfuo Education Fund.

KNUST received ?20 million towards the construction of a new hostel facility while Martyrs of Uganda also received ?10 million in aid of expansion projects going on in the school. Rev. Mary Theo Nillo, Headmistress of Martyrs of Uganda receiving the chaque from Nana Brefo-Boate Presenting the cheques to the institutions, the executive Secretary of the fund, Nana Brefo-Boateng, said the donations were in fulfilment of a pledge made by Otumfuo, to assist KNUST and Martyrs of Uganda with an amount of ?50 and ?20 million respectively to realise their development objectives.

He said by this presentation, Martyrs of Uganda has received the total amount promised them while that of KNUST is left with ?20 million. He expressed the hope that the money would be paid to KNUST in due course.

Receiving the two donations on behalf of the institutions, Rev. Mary Theo Nillo, Headmistress of Martyrs of Uganda thanked the secretariat for the gesture and made the assurance that the money would be put to good use.
