Otabil: Greed fuelling corruption in national leadership

Motivational Speaker and renowned cleric, Dr Mensa Otabil, says the spirit of greed is what fuels corruption in national leadership.

“A whole nation’s destiny is mortgaged on the greed of one person who decides a contract of no significant value should be awarded because it will line his pocket with something for himself so 20 million perish and one man has something,” the International Central Gospel Church Founder said in his Friday ‘Living Word’ message on private FM station, Joy.

“The spirit of greed, you see, sometimes is not even greed like the people want more, sometimes it’s greed that is cheap," Dr Otabil said.

“It’s like Judas selling Jesus for 30 pieces of silver; that was the price of a slave. At least if you are going to sell the Lord, at least multiply the price…it’s cheapness, it’s devaluation greed."

According to Otabil, that sort of greed is fuelled by a spirit of devaluation, which causes people to demean themselves and reduce their self-worth.
