Opposition MP lashes at ruling government

The NPP parliamentary candidate for Akim Oda, Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo has called upon Ghanaians to unite to eliminate tendencies that militate against national unity and development.

He said bad governance and mismanagement of resources by the ruling NDC has plunged the country into poverty, hunger, injustice and unemployment among other forms of hardship. Mr Osafo- Marfo, who is the incumbent MP and Minority Spokesman on Trade and Industry, was addressing an NPP rally at Mpraeso in the Kwahu South district.

Ghanaians had been living together as one people with a common destiny but the NDC has now divided the country, he said. He therefore called on Ghanaians to vote for NPP in the up-coming elections to unseat the NDC and ensure national unity, peace and harmony as well as effective management of the country's economy.

Mr Osafo-Marfo accused the NDC of selling cutlasses, kerosene and other essential items to the rural people at subsidised prices to influence them to vote for the party. This, he said would not prevent the NPP from winning the general election and dvised its supporters to avoid any electoral malpractice on December 7.
