Oguaa goes quiet on Christmas day

Cape Coast, Dec 25, GNA- The atmosphere in Cape Coast was generally quiet on Christmas day, with many Christians attending church services to mark the birth of Christ.

While church services were in session traders had their shops open, like any ordinary day, while a handful of market women at the Kotokuraba, Kotoka and Abura markets were selling their wares. Vehicular traffic was practically absent as many commercial vehicle drivers, especially taxi drivers were virtually absent. Commuters had to wait by the roadside for long hours for the few taxis that were working.

Many children, some of whom had closed from church and those who did not attend church, had fun dancing to brass band music accompanying some masquerades through some streets in the town.

The atmosphere was still quiet after church services with the streets virtually empty of human activity as people retired to their homes for family re-unions and various entertainment places.
