Offinso-Namong SDA primary school to get help after the Probe’s report

Some natives from Namong in the Offinso Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti region have promised to assist pupils of Namong SDA Primary School to get a new school building.

Confirming to The Probe, head teacher of the school Mr. Boateng Stephen explained that, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, he had a call from one Mr. Agyemang, who resides in the United State of America, and asked to be sent confirmation pictures and videos about the school.

“He told me he read the story online after The Probe had published it and got to know the story was about a school in his own town. He is to organize other natives around [US] in order to find solution to the building problem, ” said Mr. Boateng.

A new building project, by government, to replace the Namong SDA Primary School’s current dilapidated block has stalled.

The Probe’s earlier visit to the school revealed that, the school with a population of 620 pupils and 19 teachers, still sit under makeshift structures for teaching and learning to take place.

Five classrooms for the primary level, and four for the Kindergarten. Right beside the makeshift structures is the uncompleted building which has been left in the bush to ‘house’ snakes.

It was also observed that, the school does not have toilet nor urinal, where either pupils or teachers go to ease themselves; but rather resort to the bush to attend to nature’s call.
