Peduasi Lodge set Up To Train NPP Police - Insight
The Inspector-General of Police, Nana Owusu Nsiah has refuted rumours that a special Police Unit has been formed within the Police Service.

Nana Owusu Nsiah further denied that the Police Administration is using the Presidential Lodge at Peduase as training grounds for the supposed special Police Unit. Nana Owusu Nsiah was reacting to these allegations which were earlier made on Peace FM on Tuesday April 13 by the Managing Editor of the ?Insight? newspaper, Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jnr.

According to Kwesi Pratt, information he is privy to, claimed that some senior Police personnel have expressed worry over the training and recruiting of some NPP faithfuls at the Peduase Lodge, to enlist them into the Police Service.

These people, Mr. Pratt alleged, are called ?Party Police, have been given special training and take special feeding ration which are far different from what the recruits in the normal Police Force enjoy.

The IGP in his reaction explained that the recruits at Peduase Lodge are members of those who were undergoing guard training to protect ministers and some government officials.

He said they were housed at the Lodge due to the acute accommodation problems the police administration was facing, when they were to take a three-week training programme at Asutsuare.

Nana Owusu Nsiah stressed that the fact that personnel from the Service are used to protect government officials, does not mean that they are party loyalists trained to be enlisted into the Police Service.
