National service personnel called to duty

Bawku (U/E), March 1, GNA - The Bawku Municipal Director of the National Service Secretariat, Mr Amadu Mogtar-Bagya, has called on personnel serving on the National Service Programme in Bawku to see their services as a call to duty.

He said the recurring conflict in the area had deprived the Municipality of some development and needed more workers hence the reliance on service personnel.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Bawku, Mr Mogtar-Bagya said 62 national service personnel were posted to the area, while 52 were recruited to serve on the national voluntary service programme.

He said the personnel were serving in all the sectors of the municipality. Mr Mogtar-Bagya complained about lack of accommodation facing the secretariat and appealed to the developmental partners, municipal assembly and the various departments to help solve the problem. The President of the Bawku National Service Personnel Association, Mr Alphorns Allabilah, urged the personnel to work hard in order to sustain th= e good name of the association. Mr Allabillah commended the heads of institutions where service personnel are working for their support and said personnel would continue t= o work hard and abide by the rules and regulations governing such institutions.
