NPP's fortunes in Volta region slow but positive

Ho, Dec. 18, GNA - The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been urged to be hopeful rather than disappointed about the party's fortunes in the Volta Region.

This is because the Party's progress in the region has been slow but positive and required equal attention in preparations towards the December 28 Presidential run-off.

Mr Albert Gbortsyo, Former President of the Ho Polytechnic branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederation (TESCON) of the NPP said the leadership would be making a grave mistake leaving out the region in arrangements towards the

Presidential run-off. He said every single vote is crucial in the run-off. Ms Mariama Adamu, an NPP sympathizer expressed

disappointed that the region has been left out of the Party's free

transport arrangements for its supporters who wish to travel outside

Accra to vote on December 28. She said she has three sisters hawking in Accra who have

expressed the desire to come down to Ho to vote for the party's

Presidential candidate. Mr Johnson Avuletey, Volta Regional Organizer of the Party

however assured that the region has not been left out of that

arrangement and that things were being sorted out to ensure a grand

victory on December 28. Mr Modestus Ahiable, Volta Regional Chairman of the National

Democratic Congress (NDC) said the Party has no special

arrangements to ferry its supporters from Accra to vote, but would

see what help could be given to those who organize themselves.
