NPP Will Win In 2004, Despite Fuel Increase -MP

The Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency, Mr Godfred Okyere says the increase fuel prices would not draw back the NPP victory in the 2004 election.

He said the day when people used cheap words and material gains to deceive the people to achieve their political ambition is over. Mr Okyere said this when he addressed members of the party, chiefs, opinion leaders and a cross-section of the community at Krabokese near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

He said it is not the wish of the government to create hardship for the people but when the need arises, the government has to adjust its policy. Mr Okyere asked the people to acknowledge the number of projects being undertaken by the government in the constituency.

These include the Manfokrom-Coaltar-Dokrochiwa. Kofi Pare-Owuram road and Anum Apapam-Obuohu-Krabuaho-Kwaboanta-Kokosiase road which was neglected by previous governments and the mass spraying of cocoa farms. The Chairman of the Ayensuano constituency of the NPP, Mr Emmanuel Dartey asked the people not to look up to the government to prove them with all their amenities.

The Chief of the Krabokese Nana Adjare Kwakwo commended the NPP government for its transparency and said it should keep it up to enable the country to move forward. He said the government’s policy for the past two years has been appreciated by the people in the area and assured the MP and the NPP government of their support in the 2004 election.
