NPP National Executives Are Thieves - Agyepong

A revelation by a leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party yesterday evening should see Ghanaians congratulating themselves and thanking God that they did not elect the party during the 2012 polls to governor Ghana.

The time was 8:30pm and the radio station was ‘Oman FM’ located at Zongo junction at Madina. The programme, ‘Boiling Point’ was on and as usual, it was boiling with assault on the integrity of personalities like National Security Co-ordinator, Larry Gbvelo Lartey and Kofi Konadu Apraku, a leading member of the NPP by two of the panelists, Ernest Owusu Bempah and Adomako Baafi.

When it came to the turn of Kennedy Agyepong, a leading member of the NPP and owner of the radio station, he went straight for the jugular, declaring that all the National Executives of the NPP are not only corrupt and but thieves as well. According to Kennedy Agyepong, the National Executive members stole motorbikes he bought on credit from China for them to campaign with in the run up to the December 2012 polls. He accused them of using it now to campaign for themselves to be elected back into the office. According to him, he is yet pay the for motorbikes, adding that he is unable to sleep as a result because the Chinese woman he bought the bikes from continues to harass him for payment.

“If I sleep, I can’t sleep. The Chinese woman will not let me sleep. Am still owing her and I need to pay for the motorbikes,” he complained. He therefore charged Polling Station executives of the party to vote against all members of the National Executives of the party. He accused Jake Obetsebi Lamptey of being a thief and threatened to expose his secrets.

In the run-up to the 2008 elections, NPP activists went wild after the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, described the 17 aspiring flag-bearers of their party as “17 thieves”. Now, the allegation is coming from one of their own.
