Yeboah versus HSV

HAMBURG STRIKER Antony Yeboah wants to make use of the option to extend his deal by a further year, even though the club no longer want him.

"It doesn't look as if they are planning with me. It's making me a little bit nervous," said Yeboah.

However, the striker doesn't want to be left out in the rain by Hamburg. With the option enabling him to extend his current deal (Yeboah is said to be earning US$1.4 million per year) by a further 12 months, he has all the trumps in his hand.

"I can't afford to miss out on such a lot of money. It's not my fault that the situation is like this. When we were negotiating the contract last year I only wanted to sign for a further season, but the club insisted on the option," Yeboah continued.

The Ghanaian striker isn't even thinking of quitting yet, commenting: "I know that I must retire at some stage but I still feel fit. I will play at least another season."
