NDC Sacrificed Peprah For Mills

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dan Botwe says the NDC sacrificed Mr Kwame Peprah, the jailed ex-Finance Minister for Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the flagbearer of the party. He said Prof Mills should have been jailed and not Mr Peprah because he (Mills) was the then chairman of the Economic Management Team and should have known better.

According to him, Prof Mills wrote a letter to Mr Peprah telling him that they should try to cut down losses and expenditure. However, he said, Prof Mills supervised the transfer of two million US dollars to Mrs Cotton in January 1999 by Mr Peprah.

Mr Botwe said Prof Mills, had all the powers on this earth to stop the transfer of the money ''but because he was not himself'' he could not do that.

Mr Botwe intimated that Ghanaians have learnt their lesson and no one was going to entrust the nation’s assets into his (Mills) hands again in 2004.
