NDC Presidential Aspirants meet

Accra, Nov. 28 GNA - The Inter-Aspirants Advisory Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the chairmanship of Dr Kwabena Adjei, National Chairman of the Party, today met with the four aspiring candidates for the Presidential flagbearership of NDC.

All the candidates; Professor John Evans Attah Mills; Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama; Dr Ekwow Spio Garbah and Mr Eddie Annan pledged to abide by the rules and regulations pertaining to the elections.

A statement signed by Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Deputy General Secretary of NDC, said meeting lasted for about three hours and was held in a spirit of frankness, openness and camaraderie with the candidates discussing issues bordering on the Party's unity and strategies for a successful Congress.

They also undertook to advise their supporters to act accordingly and further pledged to render support to whoever among them emerged as the winner in the upcoming NDC Special Congress on December 21 2006 at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The statement said the IAAC also briefed the aspiring candidates about the preparations for the upcoming Congress.

The IAAC said plans were far advanced to organize a "Family Forum" where the aspirants would interact with the Founder of the Party, Former President J.J. Rawlings, members of the Council of Elders, National and Functional Executive Committee as well as a cross section of the rank and file of the Party, the statement said.
