NDC Poll: Sorogho requests ambulance for opponent

Member of Parliament of Madina Alhaji Amadu Sorogho says his main contender will suffer so excruciating a defeat on Saturday that he will collapse.

"Sosu will collapse on Saturday," Alhaji Sorogho, who has been MP since 2009, said on TV3's News @ 10 on Wednesday, November 18.

But human rights lawyer, Francis Xavier-Sosu, retorted that the incumbent aspirant will rather collapse as a result of defeat and so authorities should make available an ambulance in Madina to carry him to the nearest hospital.

The two are the main contenders for Saturday's parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Madina Constituency.

While Alhaji Sorogho has sworn to defeat the young legal practitioner, Mr Sosu referred to the race as David and Goliath, insinuating that he will floor the incumbent.

Alhaji Sorogho alleged that Mr Sosu has not been a member of the NDC in the constituency and does not even have a voting right there.

He added that members of the NDC do not even know the lawyer as part of them.

"I don't have time for you," he stressed.

The winner of Saturday's primaries will face Alhaji Boniface Saddique of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) among other candidates in the 2016 elections.
