Murdered Asiakwa Teacher was brutally hit twice with a club - Family head reveals

It has emerged that the murdered Religious and Moral education teacher of the Asiakwa Salvation Army basic school was brutally hit twice at his back with a club leading to his demise.

Family head of the slain teacher, Opayin Badu Agyare narrating how his assassins unleashed brutalities on the deceased, explained that the murdered teacher was on his way to give money to a colleague teacher who stays a distance behind the school.

According to Abusuapanyin , the deceased was hit on his back with a club by his attackers on reaching a section of the road where he stopped to pass urine.

He further lamented that one of his attackers unleashed a second stroke when positioned himself to spot who the perpetrators were.

Mr. Badu Agyare told Ghanaweb, the suspects dragged him to one of the classrooms after he fell.

He said they incessantly attacked him until he shouted and the colleague teacher he was visiting came to his aide.

He added that one of his attackers who pretended to assist the colleague teacher was identified and arrested by a police patrol team.

The attack on the teacher, according to the family head was a revenge following a dispute over snails.



According to him, the school has a snail farm which was encroached by some irate youth in the community who use the school compound for nefarious activities such as wee smoking and illicit sex.

Upon police complaints, arrests were made but instead of prosecutions some opinion leaders intervened and the suspects were made to pay for the cost of the snails stolen from the farm.

According to the account, during the assault on their colleague, the assailants revealed he was being punished because his school surcharged them for the stolen snails.

The deceased who was initially admitted to the Kyebi Hospital was later transferred to the St Joseph's Hospital in Koforidua.

Meanwhile the kyebi district court has remanded the six suspects into prison custody when they appeared before the court for the first time.

The suspects are Ezekiel Boadu (20), Philip Kodie (22), Mireku Emmanuel (19), Paul Offei Frimpong (19), Aboagye Evans (19) and Richard Amaning,18.

They are to reappear in court on June, 25.
