Mills Will Win 65% Votes At NDC Congress

Former Vice President, Professor John Atta Mills will no longer stay under the shadow of his mentor, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, should he become the next President of Ghana. The Professor will be his own man and listen to the Council of State for advise as mandated by the constitution. Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Joshua Alabi told the Evening News newspaper that the assertion that Professor Mills would be controlled by Rawlings could not be rationalized.

He explained that Professor Mills could not have displayed his abilities when he was Vice President because he was constitutionally mandated to assist the President. If the former Vice President has attempted to do things his own way, outside the agenda of the then President, there would have been a constitutional crisis. “The late Ekow Nkensen Arkaah tried it and he created constitutional crisis which people perceived as being one’s own self,” he added.
