Michael Essien plays for Chelsea reserves

Chelsea legend Michael Essien featured for the side's reserve in their 2-1 friendly win over Brentford XI.

Essien, 33, played for his former club as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of finding a new club.

The Ghanaian has been in London in the past couple of weeks since he was released by Greek giants Panathinaikos.

He has been linked with several clubs with Turkish giants Galatasary believed to be leading the chase.

The former Ghana international spent an incredible nine years at Stamford Bridge where he won several titles.
