Medical Students Complete Outreach Programme

Begoro (Eastern Region), 10 Sept.,

A team of students from the University of Ghana Medical School has completed a one-week out-reach programme to educate people at Begoro in the Fanteakwa district on health issues. The eight-member team, educated the people on the theme ''Acute respiratory infections, our children and the future'' at Church services, social gatherings and market places. The leader of the team, Mr. Robert Asare, expressed concern at the health delivery system in the district. He advised parents to seek prompt medical attention for their children when they are sick. He appealed to the Ministry of Health to provide the district with a medical officer to alleviate the problems facing the people. The team screened a number of people with hypertension and diabetes.
