Head Coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Prince Yaw Owusu, is thrilled about his team’s recent victories which have moved them back into title contention in the Premier League.

The former deputy coach of Black Satellites, who sounded elated on the telephone during an interview with the Graphic Sports, last Friday said his target to in the Top Four would be achieved attributing the club’s recent rise on the log to what he called “hard work and seriousness on the part of the players”.

“I am happy we are now among the best four in the league. When I signed my contract last May, I was tasked to get the team to finish in the Top Four, so I’m excited, and my boys deserve all the credit.

“They are getting better than before, and I think they have now realised that they can do the job”, he added.

The Tarkwa-based club started the season on a patchy note, and as they struggled against the odds their Swedish coach, Tom Christian Strand departed.

However, the reappointment of Owusu, who has vast experience in the coaching business, helped to turn the fortunes of the club around after beating Dreams FC 2-1 and Liberty Professionals 1-0 in their last two games to climb to the fifth position with 33 points.

Meanwhile, Medeama have two outstanding games against WAFA, Wa All Stars and Aduana Stars, and if the Tarkwa-based side wins all, they could climb to the top of the log.
