President John Dramani Mahama has made good on most of the campaign promises in the National Democratic Congress’ manifesto for the 2012 presidential elections, Kofi Adams, National Organiser of the NDC, has revealed.

“We have covered most part of our manifesto in 2012 and performed creditably in providing the right reforms and fundamentals needed for accelerated economic growth,” he said.

Ahead of the November 7 polls, Mr. Adams revealed the NDC was almost done compiling its 2016 manifesto and would soon launch it for Ghanaians to know the package Mr. Mahama has for them.

He highlighted the party’s 2016 manifesto as focusing on “investing in our people that will change their lives and transform Ghana.”

“Our [NDC] presidential candidate is very credible [and]… acknowledged globally; it’s clear when the world needed two people to lead the process for attaining the new goals set for bettering the world dubbed Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), it was President John Dramani Mahama and the Prime Minister of Norway, who were nominated to lead the process,” Mr. Adams said.

He said the manifesto would also capture the socio-economic and political realities after 2012 and then showcase government’s programmes and activities that would bring out the realities beyond 2016.

Mr. Adams indicated that the NDC was prepared to deal with the expected propaganda the opposition New Patriotic Party will do with the contents of the manifesto.

“I do not think the world will be wrong, and only Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia [flagbearer and running mates of the NPP, respectively] will be right,” he told Graphic.
