MP Tours Communities

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman, Mr. Emmanuel Dwamena Bekoe, has allocated ?13 million from the MPs Common Fund to strengthen the potable water delivery system from Dodi Asantekrom pumping station up to Asikuma.

This is to help alleviate a severe water shortage which has hit Anum, Asikuma and other surrounding villages.

Bekoe made this known during his interaction with some communities in the district.

Among communities he visited was Yaamama, Ganyo, Sappor, Ahovikope and Yaamama junction.

According to the MP, ?8 million out of the amount has been allocated under the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) sponsored water and sanitation programme for 20 communities in the district.

He disclosed that ?5 million from the Common Fund has been released to procure 25 four-inch diameter PVC pipes to ensure uninterrupted water supply from Dodi Asantekrom through Anum, Nkwakuben to Asikuma.

He said it is his determination to ensure that the district has a fair share of the national cake.
