MP Appeals To Farmers

The MP for Afram Plains North, Mr.. Krosbi-Mensah, has called on farmers in the area to consider the growing of cashew and Teak as cash crops in place of cocoa which is phasing out in the district due to change in weather. Mr.. Kroshi Mensah made the call when he visited six communities in his constituency. The communities are Mafi-Kope, Abiwkope, Agorhome, Baladzi and Andy Kope. He said the cultivation of cashew and Teak trees will sustain the farmers in times of old age as well as check deaforestation. Mr.. Krosbi-Mensah advised the communities to initiate more development projects in order to benefit from Government Assistance. As part of the visit, the MP inspected Labour Intensive Roads being constructed from new Kyiase to Adeemmra and Amankwakrom-Agodeke sponsored by DANIDA. Mr.. Krosbi-Mensah expressed satisfaction with the work done so far and called on the two contractors to complete it on schedule. He was however not happy with work on certain portions of Amankwakrom Adgodeke road which get flooded when the volume of the Volta Lake increases. Mr.. Krosbi-Mensah therefore called on the Technical Engineers to rectify the situation.

End.
