Head coach of Lorient Sylvain Ripoll is furious with the Ghana Football Association after forward Abdul-Majeed Waris returned from Ghana’s game against Canada crocked.

Waris, 24, is set to be out of action for the next 21 days after picking up a contraction while on international duty.

The former Valenciennes man picked up a knock in his side’s 3-2 victory over Bordeaux in the last ligue 1 game before the international break.

According to reports from Lorient, head coach Sylvain Ripoll only allowed the Ghana international to join his international colleagues on the condition that his injury would not be risked if progress was not made in 24 hours on his arrival in Washington, but it has emerged that doctors of the national team failed to adhere to the instructions with Waris featuring in the second half of Ghana’s game against Canada despite an inflammation to his muscles.

The former Right to Dream forward missed his side’s 1-1 draw game against Marseille over the weekend and will miss games against Rennes next week and Montpellier the week after that.

A situation that has left head coach Sylvain Ripoll absolutely livid.
