Let's help set the NPP free from their mentality – Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Asiedu Nketia says he is bemused by the actions of members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and wonders if the Creator of Heaven and Earth specifically made Ghana a home for only the opposition party.

He was commenting on what he claims to be swift reactions to issues he touches on surrounding the petition filed by the NPP at the Supreme Court.

Mr. Aseidu Nketia established that it looks as if the NPP elders had created a norm for all to follow and raised serious concerns if anybody challenged their authority.

In an interview on Okay FM, Mr. Asiedu Nketia noted that the NPP had allowed that perception to eat into their heads; making it difficult for them to accept opinions and views shared by others.

He therefore called on all Ghanaians to join hands even if it would take prayers, in order to set the NPP free from such mentality.

“They have a certain faith that they carry out every heart desires of theirs because God created Ghana for them. When they raise a concern, no one else has the chance to respond and you would be told clearly that ‘it is only NPP members who have the power to respond to issues’,” he said.

According to him, the conclusion he has drawn from the NPP’s conduct over the years suggest that they “are entitled to rule the country, when they speak, no one else has to, and that they have the right to let people hear them; but have no obligation to listen to what other people say”.
